Happy 4th of July

We had a wonderful holiday! We started the day with Mass and then went to breakfast with Grandma Rose. After naps we headed up to Bandimere Speedway. (Daddy works here a few weekends during the sumner.) They had a little carnival. Stephen had fun playing a few games. He didn't quite understand the "Stand behind the line." rule and would go right up and put the ball in the hole.

After we ate it was time to watch race cars!

Their feature event was the jet cars. If you're not familiar with them, they are race cars with a jet engine.

Stephen was not sure what to think of these. Even with ear plugs, they were mighty loud and put out lots of fire and smoke. He was holding my hand and when the first round started he put my hand over his eyes. I moved so he could see. I asked if he wanted to stay in the seat or go up to the top. He chose to stay. We watched one more round and then headed up. We talked to Daddy and then watched some dragsters and muscle cars - Stephen much prefers these.

Then we went home to watch fireworks from our porch. We were able to see quite a few different shows.
