Stephen is 2 weeks old today. It's crazy how quickly our lives have changed! He is truly a gift from God and an answer to many prayers. I feel fairly comfortable in my new role as Mommy. I hear his smallest noises at night and have learned to quickly fall asleep after his night feedings. I am recuperating well from my C-section. I have pain occasionally but nothing too bad.
Steve is adjusting to his role as Daddy well. He loves holding Stephen and talking to him. I look forward to watching him grow in this role, especially once Stephen starts smiling and reacting more to us.
Stephen is such a cute little boy, in my unbiased opinion. He has long fingers and toes. He also has a great set of lungs which he utilizes almost every time we change his diaper. He is definitely a screamer. I love watching the faces he makes as he sleeps. We are both still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of breastfeeding. Sometimes he does really well. Other times he fusses and screams before finally calming down enough to eat. At his appointment on Monday, he was down to 5 lbs. 13 oz. Dr. A is not overly concerned at this point because Stephen looks healthy and is acting the way a healthy baby does. However, we have to go back next Monday for a weight check. Hopefully, he will have gained some weight.
I still can't believe that this little boy was inside me! God is amazing!
