I said yes!

5 years ago Steve and I had been dating for 18 months. We headed to the mountains for a picnic lunch. We ended up on a rock in the middle of Geneva Creek. Steve got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes! We went back to our rock last Friday. It's so fun to be able to visit our happy place!

Stephen is quite the basketball fan. He loves watching it and playing it. He is also quite adept with the vocabulary of the game. He's frequently heard saying "Foul," "Free throw," "pass," "dribble," "jump shot," "defense," "slam dunk," and "shoot." When he plays he will often fall to the ground and say he was fouled. Daddy has taught him to aim for the square on his basket, so he gets quite excited when he hits the square. Stephen is a good little left-handed dribbler. He can even dribble and move at the same time! He is a very attentive fan when we watch basketball on tv or in person. He will clap and yell as any good fan would. Stephen loves going to watch basketball at St. Louis (where Steve referees) because after the last game he gets to go on the gym floor and play. I'm excited to see how our little basketball player does as he grows up.

We had pictures taken yesterday. We got a family picture, Stephen's 3-year picture, and Paul's 18-month picture. The boys were very cooperative, and we got great pictures!

We went to our annual Rockies vs. Reds game with our Montana friends, Doc and Kathie. The boys enjoyed the game and were very good.

A family hike

We headed up to Mt. Falcon for some family fun. Stephen loved picking up rocks and putting them in his pocket as he walked. There were some threatening clouds, so we headed back down and hung out in the picnic shelter. Stephen had fun climbing on the rocks and chasing the crows.

Happy birthday, Daddy!

Daddy took off work on his birthday yesterday, so we were able to have a fun day celebrating him! We started by opening presents.

 Next, we discovered some deer hanging out by our swingset.

Stephen wanted to take a picture of the deer also.

 Then, we headed up to our favorite mountain spot with a stop in Georgetown.

After lunch we headed towards our rock. We didn't hike all the way in but did enough hiking to satisfy Stephen who had been wanting to walk on a mountain.

 After eating tacos for supper (Steve's favorite), we had a birthday German chocolate cake (also Steve's favorite). The boys were very excited to help Daddy blow out the candles.
