Family time 2012 - days 1-3

My family made their annual trek out here at the beginning of July. As usual, we had a ton of fun! It was the cousins' first time to see Paul in person. They were very excited!

Stephen decided to share his cup with Monica.

 On Saturday we went to the art museum.

Stephen was very excited. :)

 Sunday was Paul's baptism. That evening we had fun at the pool at the hotel where Grandma, Grandpa, and Amy were staying.

Paul made it clear that he did NOT like the water.

He finally decided it was fun to be in the water using this float Megan brought.

A child of God

Paul James was baptized on July 8. His godparents are our friends Ewald and Kitty; however, Kitty was out of town, so Steve's sister Kathy stood in for her. It was a lovely ceremony. Paul was wide awake and very well-behaved for the whole thing. He didn't even flinch when the water was poured on him. We were blessed to have our families and several friends join us for the special day. Paul wore the same outfit that Stephen did which was made by my grandmother. My mom crocheted an afghan for him as well.

20 months old

Stephen is now 20 months old! I know I've said this before, but he is such a fun little boy. He loves to dance. Sometimes he will make his guitar play music and then start dancing. He has some great moves! I think Stephen's two favorite words right now are "splash" and "crash." They are both said with much emotion. Whenever he sees any water, even a little puddle, he will say "splash." If anything, including himself, falls, he will say "crash." Some of his other favorites now include...

 *his box - he loves sitting on it, standing on it, pulling and pushing it around, and putting toys on it

 *riding his car and putting things under the seat

 *playing with cars and using his tools to "fix" them

Paul has started to smile! He's still very selective about where and when he smiles, but I did manage to catch a few on film this morning.

Paul had his 1-month pictures taken on June 25. He was a very good model. Despite having to bribe Stephen to join Paul for some pictures, the ones with both boys turned out very cute. Here are the poses I chose.
