From the mouth of Stephen

Some water got on Stephen's highchair tray. He pointed at it and said "Jesus." It took me a bit but then I realized he was thinking of holy water. I said the Sign of the Cross, and he said "Amen" with me. He then asked me to do it more.

Road trip!

In mid-July I made the brave decision to venture to Nebraska on my own with the two boys. The trip there went very well. Stephen and Paul were both great travelers, despite the fact that Stephen didn't sleep much and we took a detour to avoid the interstate construction. Our trip included a trip to the Children's Museum, playing with cousins, going to see an musical outdoors, visiting our friends Lori and Joy, Mass at the Newman Center, and a trip to visit my grandparents and Aunt JoAnn.

Paul rolled over from his back to his tummy today! He has Stephen beat by a month on this milestone.

A new favorite

After going to the library on Thursday, Stephen has a new favorite book - Baseball Hour by Carol Nevius. I like it too. It has great illustrations. It may be a birthday present in a couple months. She has another book called Building with Dad that looks good as well.

Brothers

Stephen has been a pretty good big brother so far. I'm looking forward to watching their relationship grow as they get older. I walked into the living room the other day to see this scene. Hopefully, I'll see a lot more of Stephen reading to Paul in the future.

3 months old

Paul is 3 months old. He's such an easygoing baby. He doesn't cry much, but when he does, he lets you know how upset he is. He's very smiley and is almost giggling. He's getting very good at holding his head up and loves watching the world around him. He goes to bed around 8:30 and will usually sleep until around 12:30-1:30. Then he'll wake up again in 2-3 hours. He's helped make the transition from one to two a little easier. We love you, Paul!
