2 Months

Stephen is 2 months old already! I can't believe it's been that long, but his birth day also seems like a long time ago. He had his 2 month appointment yesterday, complete with 6 vaccinations (3 shots and 1 oral). Here's his current stats:
  • Weight: 11 lbs. 5 oz. (23%)
  • Length: 22.75" (22%)
  • Head circumference: 15.25" (11%)
  • Weight-for-Length Percentile: 41%
So, Stephen's a little peanut, but he's growing which is good. He was great at the doctor's office. He didn't mind getting examined and then just hung out in his car seat during my exam. He had just fallen asleep when it was time to do his shots, so we had to wake him up. He had one really good scream, but after I picked him up, he calmed down pretty quickly. He fell asleep again before we left the office. He was a little fussy in the evening but not too bad.

At 2 months...Stephen is cooing and making more noise than just crying. Steve is trying to teach him to say "dada." He will hold onto a rattle for a short period of time. He can track a toy with his eyes as you move it. He likes to hold onto and play with our fingers. Mornings are his happy time. After his first morning feeding, he's usually alert and ready to play. Sometimes he will just hang out in his bassinet looking around before I get him up. He is very observant of the world around him, especially if we are somewhere new. Stephen dislikes having things over his face which makes getting dressed a lot of fun. So far he is very good on our many adventures to stores, basketball games, and other fun places. Loud noise does not seem to bother him at this point. I have many names for him right now - baby boy, honey bun, squeakers, and occasionally Stephen. One of my favorite things is watching him stretch as he wakes up. He makes the cutest faces as he does this. I also like seeing him look up at me as he nurses. So sweet! We love our little Stephen.
